If you’re ready to dodge some raindrops this week, I think it’s absolutely worth it. Thanks to the recent controlled burns, many of the preserves are featuring young trees and shrubs standing proud in their black tuxedos made of soot on a lush green carpet. I love the contrast. Fort Hill Trail still has two Milkweeds hanging out. The nearest trail access point is on Gilmer Road. I love cycling through it though on the way from Ray Lake to a dramatic loop on the Millennium Trail East section. A Ray Lake Milkweed is home for repairs, but the others appear to have found new homes.
