I intentionally sought out some new locations for McDonald plantings. I was successful for two out of the three! I love how this preserve changes through the seasons.

Nothing but blue skies today, not even wind! A favorite spot got quite a new look. I still left a milkweed to hang out for awhile.

Lakewood was the first Lake County forest preserve I ever visited. Pink on Pink. These milkweeds are getting a workout in on Old School’s pink, exercise trail!

There’s no place like home. While this project has allowed me to fall in love all of the Lake County Forest Preserves, I think Rollins will always feel like home, where it all started.

The milkweeds at Raven Glen do not have a paper crane friend to hang out with this year, but they do have a rock art neighbor. I think this place feels loved.

Lyons Wood makes me feel like there’s a touch of magic in the air. It has a uniqueness that separates it just a little from our other preserves.

These milkweeds have great albeit rocky views of water, a great place to relax!

Contrary to its name, Pine Dunes features few pines but it does have beautiful views of water features!
